Parts of country receive rain, snowfall

ISLAMABAD: Several parts of the country on Monday received rain and snowfall on the mountains, Geo News reported.

Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Gilgit Baltistan, Malakand, tribal areas and various cities of Punjab were hit by rain.

Snowfall in on the upper mountainous areas including Neelum, Keel, Gareez, Lipa and Kahota turned weather chilly.

Sahiwal, Kasur, Shorkot, Noorpur Thal and several other parts of Punjab received light rain.

Skardu was in the grip of severe cold wave after a snowfall on Sunday. The mountains in Skardu and Ghanger districts are covered with snowfall.

The Met office has forecast rain in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Sargodha, Faisalabad and parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan besides snowfall on the mountains.
