LARKANA: A complete shutter down strike is being observed in the entire district in protest against the desecration of holy pages, Geo News reported.
The situation in the city still remains tense after Saturday night’s rioting when an angry mob laid siege to the house of the man accused of desecrating holy pages. Police arrested the accused and shifted him to the market police station.
The mob however, torched a Dharamshala adjacent to the main temple near Jinnah Bagh, partially damaging the main temple.
The district administration has banned pillion riding, while police and Rangers have been deployed to protect Hindu temples, shops and markets while the area surrounding the main temple has been completely sealed.
Protesting against the incident the citizens observed a complete strike in the district, with all businesses remaining closed.
