KARACHI: An important joint-meeting of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Karachi-London Coordination Committee was held on Friday to discuss the names for Chief Election Commissioner (CEC).
The meeting was led by Deputy Conveners Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui and Dr Nusrat Shaukat.
In the meeting, party members agreed and proposed four names for the slot.
The four proposed candidates were Justice (retd) Nasir Aslam Zahid, former judge Sindh High Court, Justice (retd) Ghaus Muhammad, former CJP Justice (retd) Tassaduq Hussain Jilani and Justice (retd) Rana Bhagwan Das.
The proposed names were sent to the government and the Leader of the Opposition.
