KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Dr Farooq Sattar Saturday termed the creation of new administrative units in the country as indispensable.

Talking to media persons here at North Nazimabad during his visit to an MQM camp set up as part of the party’s membership campaign, Dr Sattar said, if needed, MQM would go ahead and even stage a sit-in for the local bodies elections.

He said the democracy is only for a show in the absence of local governments in the country.

The MQM leader said change would come only when people from lower stratum of society would make it to the assemblies.
