ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan expressed hope that situation in Karachi would remain peaceful during his protest in the port city today, Geo News reported.
Talking to media at his residence in Bani Gala before departure to Karachi, Imran Khan said talks with the government on dialogue process were underway and PTI wanted resumption of this process from the point where these were disrupted.
“PTI has adopted peaceful way of protest, however, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) workers, carrying arms and batons tortured our party activists”, said Imran and added that his party carried out peaceful sit-in in Islamabad for four months.
He said people like Gullu Butt were used against PTI in Gujranwal and Jehlum, and all peaceful routes were blocked.
Khan maintained there would be no real democracy in the country, until free and transparent elections were not conducted, adding that only real democracy could bring merit system.
He demanded arrest of co-accused in poll rigging after thorough investigation.
