ISLAMABAD: The Senate resumed on Tuesday discussion on motion relating to terrorist attack on Army Public School in Peshawar.

Taking part in the debate, Saeed Ghani of Pakistan People’s (PPP) said that Peshawar incident shook the nation and there is consensus on elimination of the menace of terrorism from the country.

He was of the view that the issue would not be resolved by forming committees and working groups as extremism and terrorism is a mindset that needs to be changed through sustained efforts.

He said every citizen of the country will have to stand up and speak against extremist and terrorist. He opposed creation of military courts and said instead adequate security should be provided to judges of the speedy trial courts under normal judicial system. (PPI)
