SC hears petitions against 18th, 21st constitutional amendments

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Wednesday heard the petitions challenging the 18th and 21st amendments to the Constitution.

Chief Justice Nasirul Mulk headed the full court which conducted today’s proceedings.

During the course of hearing, Lahore High Court Bar Association (LHCBA) withdrew its petition against the 18th amendment.

Justice Saqib Nisar in his remarks asked will it not trigger confrontation if the parliamentary committee is made part of the judicial commission. “We are trying to step into a territory whose doors are shut,” he added.
