KARACHI: The Metrological Department (Met) has forecast rains in the coming days in Karachi but the city administration seem to have turned a deaf ear to the announcement as no steps have been taken to clean and clear nullahs and storm water drains despite receiving funds eight months ago.
According to sources, the Sindh government had provided Rs100 million to the Commissioner Karachi in October 2014 but the city administration has failed to even spend 10 percent of the funds to clean up the nullahs and storm water drains across the metropolis.
This negligence of city administration will lead to a big mess and chaos for Karachiites in case heavy rains lash the metropolitan city.
