ECP receives NA-122 tribunal verdict copy
ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Monday received the attested copy of the election tribunal’s verdict on NA-122.

The ECP is preparing the notification to denotify Ayaz Sadiq while his lawyers have completed his appeal to be filed in the Supreme Court.

The lawyers for Ayaz Sadiq have also received the attested copy of the verdict and their appeal states that the election tribunal did not consider their arguments and there was no reference in the verdict regarding these arguments.

The appeal further states that not a single allegation was proven in the verdict and there is no witness of the rigging. According to the appeal the witnesses presented before the tribunal had no link with NA-122 constituency.

The election tribunal on Saturday declared election in NA-122 nullified and ordered re-polling in the constituency.

Ayaz Sadiq had defeated the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan in the May 2013 general elections, but his victory was challenged by the PTI chief in the tribunal.
