US should apologise for Salala attack: Defence Minister Mukhtar
ISLAMABAD: Defence Minister Chaudhry Ahmed Mukhtar said on Thursday that the US had made a mistake and should apologise for the Salala attack in which 24 Pakistani soldiers were killed by Nato forces.

“There is no compensation for the loss of life, therefore the US should apologise for its mistake.”

Speaking to Geo News, the defence minister said that the government had informed the US that it was not bound by their orders.

He further said that the meeting of US Generals with Army Chief Kayani was a welcome move by Washington. However, Mukhtar emphasised that the Army Chief would make a decision after recommendations by the Parliamentary Committee.

When asked about Karachi, Mukhtar replied that certain elements were responsible for destabilising the city, adding that the situation could improve without sending in the army.
