BAHAWALPUR: The female coach of the district hockey team, who was injured in an attempt on her life the previous night, was shifted to the operation theatre Wednesday morning after doctors said her condition had worsened once again.
Hina Khalid, the coach of the district women's hockey team, suffered severe neck wounds when she was attacked in Bahawalpur Tuesday night. She was shifted to the Victoria Hospital, where her condition was later said to be out of danger.
But hospital officials said Wednesday that her condition has deteriorated again and that she has been shifted to the operation theatre.
Police claimed today that the victim's friend had attacked her over a dispute regarding a marriage proposal. The suspect's brother has been taken into custody, police said.
