QUETTA: Heavy rain coupled with hailstorm lashed major parts of Balochistan including Quetta valley on Friday which turned the weather very cold.
The met department has forecast heavy rainfall this week in parts of Balochistan which might result in flash floods. In the next 24 hours more rain is expected in Quetta, Zhob and Sukkur.

Heavy rains may trigger flash flooding in Kech, Panjgur, Awaran, Khuzdar, Kalat, Bolan, Jhal Magsi, Sibbi, Harnai, Kohlu, Loralai and Quetta during the period, the Met department forecast said.

APP adds: Several mud houses were damaged due to rain in Dalbandin area of Chaghi district. Rain water accumulated on roads in Quetta city including Double Raod, Imadad Road, Jinnah Road, Prince Road and other road causing difficulties for pedestrians and creating traffic jams.

In some areas, electricity supply was suspended. Residents moved to different parks of the capital to enjoy the weather.

Farmers in the province were delighted as the Hub Dam and Hanna Lake in Quetta filled with rainwater.

Balochistan Chief Minister Nawab Sanaullah Zehri directed authorities concerned to take immediate measures to drain out rainwater.
