KARACHI: Interior Minister Abdul Rehman Malik has said several cases are registered against former president Pervez Musharraf, adding he will have to face criminal and civil cases if he wants to come to Pakistan, Geo News reported late Saturday.
Malik said this while addressing a press conference here Saturday in the office of National Crisis Management Cell.
He held Gen. Musharraf did not bring NRO for PPP and he could only tell as to why he had promulgated it. Musharraf should clarify in the court that why did he promulgate NRO at the advise of his friends and the questions on NRO should be asked from Musharraf.
Interior Minister also informed that there had not been any deal struck between Benazir Bhutto and Mian Nawaz Sharif, however both the leaders entered into negotiations for restoration of democracy in the country as even at that time Benazir Bhutto had talked of ‘no deal’ and hinted at returning to Pakistan and facing the cases.
If there had been any sort of deal between Benazir Bhutto and Pervez Musharraf she would not have faced cases on her return to the country, he remarked.
Responding to a query, Interior minister said that a number of cases were filed against Pervez Musharraf and despite that if he wanted to return to Pakistan he would have to face the cases. “When Musharraf comes to Pakistan then we will think about his arrest”, he told.
