PESHAWAR: A 53-year old government employee joined thousands of other students who are appearing for their matriculation exams in the city on Tuesday.
Muhammad Shafeeq, a peon at WAPDA said that he could only complete education till grade 6 when he was young. “Now that I am an old man my daughters encouraged me to give exams and complete school,” he said.
Despite being unable to study as a young boy, Shafeeq educated all of his daughters.
According to Peshawar Board Chairman Dr Shafi Afridi as many as 130,000 students will appear in the exams.
Teachers and invigilators have been asked to ensure that students do not carry pocket guides. Photostat machines should not operate near exam centres.
