IBA Karachi appoints acting dean, director

KARACHI: The Board of Governors of Karachi’s respected Institute of Business Administration (IBA) has decided to appoint Dr Sayeed Ghani as its acting head until the government announces a new Dean and Director.
Dr Sayeed Ghani, an associate professor and associate dean of the institute’s Computer Sciences faculty, was nominated at a meeting of the IBA Board of Governors held on March 9, 2016, said a press release.
Dr Sayeed Ghani holds a BS degree from MIT and an MS and Ph.D from Columbia University in Electrical Engineering. According to the IBA press release, his field of expertise is in Wireless and Mobile communications. He is presently Associate Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science at IBA and has also been a member of the Board of Governors of IBA. Dr. Ghani also has over 12 years of industry experience prior to joining IBA in 2001 as Chairman of the Center for Computer Studies, said the press release.
Dr Ghani’s appointment comes after the tenure of outgoing Dean and Director Dr. Ishrat Husain ended earlier this month.
