DUBAI: Former president Gen (retd) Pervez Musharraf has said that he is not afraid of cases in the courts against him and he will return home soon after he recovers.
Talking to people who visited his residence to inquire after his health here on Saturday, Pervez Musharraf said a court has allowed him to travel and he hopes justice will be done in other cases as well.
“I have been born to serve the country. I don’t want to spend even a single day away from my motherland after my recovery. Good health is essential for doing work and treatment is essential for good health,” he observed.
Musharraf stressed that investment is a must for national development. “The country cannot be run with the help of loans. Loans have to be paid back with interest. We will fetch investment from rich countries on the basis of relations and trust,” he added.
He remarked those who plundered national wealth and purchased properties abroad would meet failure in the upcoming elections. “We will emerge as third biggest political power and steer the country to a right direction.”
