ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani has taken a serious notice of the unpleasant incident at the opening ceremony of Commonwealth Games at New Delhi.
Gilani sought an immediate report from the Federal Minister for Sports to inquire into the incident and submit a report urgently. He directed action against any official or individual, if found responsible for the unpleasant incident.
The controversy erupted as the Pakistani squad was led by Chief de Mission of team Dr Mohammad Ali Shah. Traditionally the top athlete is honoured to carry the national flag at any sporting event. Pakistan's gold medalist weightlifter Shujaudin Malik was to be the national flag bearer of the squad at the CWG games.
