After Karachi, Kamal comes to Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: Former Karachi mayor and dissident MQM leader Mustafa Kamal, on Thursday inaugurated the office of his newly formed Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) here.

Speaking at the ceremony, Kamal said he and his party members are not the followers of those who turned the youth into target killers.

“They feel no shame while taking credit for the university established with the help of someone else’s money,” he said.

Without naming Altaf Hussain he said, "He tells the youth take up weapons to protect themselves. For 13 years he has had ministers in government, but has it made any difference to the life of his supporters?"

A day earlier, Mustafa Kamal announced the name of his party, saying only Pakistan’s flag will fly at his party’s offices.

“A party flag only divides people and creates hatred. We don’t want any more division of the Pakistani people,” he said.

Supporters of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement gathered outside the newly formed party office and protested against Kamal. The protesters wore the MQM colours, held flags and chanted slogans in support of their chief Altaf Hussain.

In reaction supporters of PSP confronted the MQM supporters. They came out of their office and shouted slogans in support of Kamal.

The protesters dispersed peacefully after ten minutes.
