ISLAMABAD: Pakistan People's Party (PPP) leader Aitzaz Ahsan on Thursday questioned how protesters traversed 14 kilometers from Rawalpindi to Islamabad without the government's knowledge.
“He said Shahbaz Sharif is a Chief Minister of Punjab. It appears as if the younger brother (Shahbaz Sharif) conspired against big brother (Nawaz Sharif),” Aitzaz Ahsan said while speaking to media persons here.
The PPP leader said Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar and Finance Minister Ishaq Dar should fight it out first before explaining as what exactly happened as regards the protest sit-in and its culmination in Islamabad.
On Wednesday the protesters announced to end their sit-in at D-Chowk after what they described as successful talks with government.
However, soon afterwards, the Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar told the media that no written agreement was made as a result of the talks between the two sides.
This sparked a debate in the media as to what exactly happened in yesterday’s talks.
