ISLAMABAD: Commenting on reports in a section of the media mentioning the name of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto in the oil for food program in Iraq, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) spokesman Senator Farhatullah Babar said that this is not for the first time that the name former Prime Minister being smeared through unsubstantiated allegations.
In a statement issued here on Monday, he said that when the report of the oil for food program first surfaced over a decade ago the NAB dispatched its prosecutors and investigators to Spain for investigation.
“However, the NAB persecutors returned empty handed when the Spanish Magistrate found no proof of wrongdoing and closed the case,” he added.
The spokesman said that those who want to smear the name of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto should first lookup the past record.
