ISLAMABAD: Federal Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid has posed several questions for the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman, Imran Khan to answer regarding what he termed the ‘former sit-in conspiracy’ before the latter’s expected address to the nation on Sunday.
In a statement issued here today, Rashid urged Khan to tender an apology to the nation over dharna politics, which he termed inflicted huge losses to the national exchequer.
“When will Imran Khan apologize over allegations he hurled during the 2014 protest sit-in [against the government of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif]?” he questioned, adding that those allegations were also declared incorrect by the chief justice of Pakistan.
“When will Imran Khan apologize for inflicting losses worth billions of rupees to Pakistan ... When will he say sorry for delaying a scheduled visit of the Chinese President?”
The minister also demanded the PTI chief to tender apologies for tarnishing dignity of the country, provoking his supporters to attack the head office of Pakistan Television (PTV) and allegedly paving way for the terrorists to escape from Bannu Jail.
Pervaiz Rashid also posed a question regarding forensic audit of international aid the PTI received.
“Hopefully Imran Khan will answer these questions before delivering his address to the nation, [scheduled for later in the evening].”
