ISLAMABAD: Declaring former President Pervez Musharraf as a 'Characterless Man,' Leader of the Opposition in National Assembly, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan Wednesday urged the government to apply Article 6 and bring him back through Interpol.
"He is a confused and characterless man and a culprit of the nation. He should be brought back," Nisar said referring to Musharraf's recent statement regarding extremists camps.
Nisar also alleged Musharraf of killing Nawab Akbar Bugti, Benazir Bhutto and innocent children at Lal Masjid and confining the judges.
"That dictator had thrice violated oath, twice subverted the constitution and did everything which an enemy of the country could do. Now he is issuing statement against solidarity of the country," he added.
Nisar said, the government should bring him back for sovereignty of the constitution and democracy.
Leader of the Opposition also demanded of the House to express solidarity with journalist Umar Cheema for torturing him and bring to book the responsible.
"Independent media is pillar of state and a support for democracy. Torturing Cheema this way is an attack on free media and democracy. The government should ensure action," he added.
He also demanded of the government to inform NATO in clear words that no further violations shall be tolerated. "Tell them, enough is enough. Discuss the issue in the House and send them a clear and strong message."
Nisar also referred to a resolution by the Balochistan Assembly about stoppage of funds by the federation for the province.
"This is serious. It was unanimous resolution by the members also supported by the Chief Minister and PPP members of Balochistan Assembly. Balochistan situation is grave and we should be cognizant of it," he said.
Nisar said Balochistan funds should not be stopped even though the federal government had to cut down the funds for other provinces.
He also mentioned to stopping funds for earthquake areas and said, during flood relief activities, we should not forget our brethren in earthquake affected areas.
