Pak-Afghan trade deal hazardous: Sarhadi
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan-Afghanistan Transit Trade Agreement will result in loss worth billions of rupees to Pakistan, claimed Zia-ul-Haq Sarhadi on Thursday.

Talking to Geo News, newly elected Member Executive Committee Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), Zia-ul-Haq Sarhadi said the agreement was sealed just on the US consent.

The government should have imposed 1965 trade deal with Afghanistan after effecting amendments in it.

Sarhadi said the Pak-Afghan trade deal would impact badly on the national transport industry with unemployment feared to mount.

He further said, ‘We have reservations over new agreement on Pak-Afghan Transit Trade, as this will entail among others disadvantages the loss worth Rs15 to Rs20 billion in only transportation.’
