FAISALABAD: Frequent power outages have made summers miserable for citizens. Unscheduled loadshedding has disturbed their routine life, citizens complained.
The beginning of the summer season brought a hike in supply and demand of electricity. According to Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO), rural areas face six hours of loadshedding, while urban areas face power supply cuts of almost eight hours.
The residents of the area said that the power failures are usually unscheduled. The local shopkeepers while speaking to Geo News said the cost of running generators is a financial burden.
The local industrial owners said more than six and eight hours of power cuts are being observed despite the announced durations. They also urged the minister for Water and Power to take notice of the prolonged power failures.
Citizens urged the government to bring them relief from excessive loadshedding in scorching summers.
During summer season every year, residents in several cities of Pakistan face the menace of prolonged power failures.
