KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Tuesday said that his party will start an anti-corruption campaign from Sindh which will eventually spread into 14 districts of the province.
Addressing media representatives outside the Jinnah International airport here today, the PTI leader said Karachi is the economic hub of Pakistan and his party extends the invitation to the people of Sindh.
Qureshi said his party would initiate a movement against corruption from Karachi to induce change in the system. He added that wherever corruption is present, PTI would run campaign in those areas.
The PTI leader said strict action would be implemented against all those who have benefited by having bank loans written off.
Speaking on the subject of a letter written by the government to the Chief Justice for the formation of a commission to probe the Panama leaks, Qureshi said that the PTI was waiting for a response from him and he hasn’t responded to the government's letter as yet.
Qureshi said that his party has already consulted the lawyers’ community. All the opposition parties of the country have already rejected the judicial commission, he said.
He said that the Panama papers have named the prime minister's family and the investigation should initiate from him.
Qureshi said that the government of Panama is willing to provide all the documents related to the matter.
The PTI leader also said that corruption is the biggest nuisance in Pakistan and people need to unite against it. He said the campaign against corruption has started and the people of Sindh would support PTI’s movement.
