Rangers recover weapons buried at Karachi graveyard

KARACHI: In an early morning raid at a graveyard on Thursday, Rangers personnel recovered a large cache of weapons buried underground.

According to reports, the paramilitary reached the Shohada Graveyard at Azizabad at four in the morning. They dug a 5-foot-deep and 2-foot-wide hole in the ground and recovered a large amount of weapons including SMGs and thousands of bullets.

The operation took place on information provided by an under custody alleged target killer Kashif David, who was arrested by the Rangers earlier this week.

Sindh Rangers spokesman in a statement issued on Wednesday said, “Kashif aka David has confessed to killing more than 30 people.”

The spokesman said that the accused was part of Ajmal Pahari group since 1995.

Kashif, on the directives of MQM Rabitta Committee and Tanzeemi committee was running a team of assassins since 2005, the statement said.

Further investigation was underway, the paramilitary spokesman said.

Rangers have taken 90-day custody of Kashif from the court.
