ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif on Thursday performed the ground breaking of the Havelian Thakot section of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) in Mansehra.
The 120-kilometer long section will be completed in 42 months at a cost of Rs 133.98 billion, the PM Office said on Wednesday.
China’s Exim Bank will provide 90 percent funding for the project while the Government of Pakistan will share 10 percent of the cost.
The road will originate from Havelian and, after passing through Abbottabad, Mansehra, and Shinkiari, will end at Thakot.
To speed up the pace of work, the project is divided into three sub sections: Havelian-Abbottabad, Abbottabad-Mansehra, and Mansehra -Thakot.
The prime minister also inaugurated two gas supply projects in Mansehra.
