ISLAMABAD: Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan in his written correspondence with the Prime Minister termed the appointment of Deedar Shah for the post of Chairman NAB as inappropriate.
Ch. Nisar said in the letters addressed to the Prime Minister that Justice (Retd.) Deedar Hussain Shah is political figure who had been a member of Sindh assembly from PPP platform.
He said names proposed by him to the government for the position of NAB Chief were not given any consideration.
In a letter written on September 23, Ch. Nisar also opposed the name of Justice (Retd.) Mukhtar Junejo proposed for the responsible position.
The letter had urged the Prime Minister that one name be picked from a few names to be proposed jointly. Ch. Nisar also made it clear to the Prime Minister to ensure that the consultation is meaningful, purposeful and effective.
