Musharraf repents removing 'second skin'

LONDON: Former president Pervaiz Musharraf reiterated in his latest interview that Nawaz Sharif was ‘brainless’ and regretted having doffing the uniform.

He accepted before the interviewer that the conflict with the judiciary was mishandled and that made him unpopular among the populace.

He declared NRO biggest mistake of his life. ‘I should not have resigned as Army chief and must have retained the post for more five years.’

Former military ruler supported Army role in national policymaking process. Nawaz Sharif was more close to the Taliban, he said.

Organisations like Lashkar-e-Taiba and individuals like Hafiz Saeed have great public sympathy and it is very difficult to tackle them.
