ISLAMABAD: Friday marked the thirty-third death anniversary of the legendary film actor Allauddin.
Allauddin wanted to become a singer, but after working as a play-back singer for a few films, he landed opportunity to act in films in Bombay (now Mumbai) before independence. He played a character role in a film titled ‘Mela’ at the age of 24.
Later, he migrated to Pakistan and worked in films throughout his life. His film career spanned over four decades during which he worked in a large number of hits.
His last released film was Dushmani in 1990.
Allauddin was a versatile actor, playing a large variety of roles. He was one of very few film artists, who acted as hero, side hero, villain, comedian and character actor.
His memorable films include Baghi, Aakhri Nishan, Waada, Paatey Khan, Peengan, Mirza Saheban, Kartar Singh, Raz, Salma, Susral, Shaheed, Farangi, Badnam, Zarqa, Umraujan Ada and various other films.
Allauddin was born in 1923 in Rawalpindi left his fans forever, on May 13, 1983.
