SARGODHA: Students at Kothian Amirchand village have been forced to take classes at nearby fields in the absence of a school building.

Residents claim that though land was sanctioned for a school building 36 years ago, its construction has still not begun.

As a result students are forced to take classes at fields where they complain sometimes animals interrupt lectures.

When contacted the education department said that they had notified the government over the issue but it had not released funds yet. “We have written a letter to the education department. Construction will begin as soon as funds are released,” an education department official said.

While the government has failed to construct a building it has appointed three teachers who perform duties under the open sky come rain or shine.
