Pakistan outclass Hong Kong 2-0 to lift Asian squash team title

Pakistan on Sunday won the 18th Asian teams’ squash championship, beating Hong Kong comfortably 2-0 in the final in Taipei.

The pair of Farhan Zaman and Farhan Mahboob outclassed their opponents to ensure Pakistan’s over all 15th and consecutive fourth Asian team squash title.

Pakistan got the initial lead when Farhan Mahboob comfortably defeated Tang Ming Hong 3-0. Mahboob didn’t face any resistance from his opponent in way to script the win with a score of 11/4, 11/7 and 11/4.

Farhan Zaman, however, faced a tough fight from Le Ho Yin Max but he recovered from a 1-2 deficit to win the match 3-2.

Zaman lost the 1st game 9/11 but came back in second to level the match with 12/10. Farhan made the comeback to win fourth and fifth game 11/7 & 11/9 after losing the third 8/11.

This was Pakistan’s 15th title in Asian team squash championship, the most by any team. The only team to win Asian team squash championship title other than Pakistan is Malaysia that won the title thrice.
