Pakistan cricket team is gearing up for their upcoming tour to England with some tough military drills at the Army School of Physical Training in Kakul.
Sources have revealed that Pakistani cricketers are training hard in the boot camp to improve their fitness.
The players are going through three physical training sessions: the first in the morning from 6am to 7am, then after a small break second session commences at 8am, which lasts for four hours, and the final session of the day starts at 5:30pm.
Players are given different tasks during these training sessions to help them improve endurance and their fitness standards.
“Players were first given the task to run one mile in six minutes, and then they were tasked to do uphill running,” sources told Geo News, adding that cricketers Fawad Alam, Shan Masood and veteran Younis Khan proved themselves to be impressive in initial tasks.
“Besides improving individual fitness, the players will be taught team discipline and how to remain punctual.”
The boot camp is expected to conclude on May 27 and players will regroup in Islamabad after a brief break before departing for England on June 14. Pakistan will start their England tour with the first Test scheduled on July 14, which will be followed by three more Tests, five ODIs and T20.
