Blast kills FC soldier in Quetta

QUETTA: A Frontier Corp soldier was killed and five were injured when a bomb exploded near a police vehicle at the Eastern Bypass area.

Police sources revealed that the bomb was placed near the edge of the road.

 The injured were taken to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.

At the time of the blast the mobile was on its usual patrolling routine, police said. 

Police and FC personnel reached the site of the blast and cordoned off the area. Evidence pertaining to the blast is being collected. So far, no militant group has stepped forward and claimed responsibility for the attack. 

Earlier this month, a bomb blast at the Eastern Bypass targeted a police mobile on patrol.
