Former KP governor Iftikhar Hussain Shah joins PTI

ISLAMABAD: Former governor of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province Iftikhar Hussain Shah announced on Saturday to join Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI).

Shah, a retired Pakistan Army officer, served as the governor of KP for four and a half years from 2000 onwards. In the continuity of his military stint, Shah, 66, was associated with the Inter-Services Intelligence as deputy director general in the year 1993.

He has also served as Pakistan’s ambassador to Turkey. PTI chief Imran Khan welcomed Shah to his party ranks while addressing a press conference in Islamabad.

‘Three options’

Khan, commenting on Panama Papers data leak, said his party has three options to deal with the matter.

“First option, a commission should be formed under Chief Justice of Pakistan on Terms of References (TORs) recommended by the 12-member committee,” he said, adding that the second option would be to unite the people.

“Third option is a legal clause on which we plan to run a campaign,” the PTI chief said.
