KARACHI: Sindh High Court (SHC) deferred till Thursday its ruling on the constitutional petition regarding the high treason against former President Gen (rtd) Pervez Musharraf, Sharifud Din Pirzada and Malik Muhammed Qayyum, Geo News reported Tuesday.
Maulvi Iqbal Hyder filed this petition. The court reserved its ruling two weeks ago after it completed the hearing.
The case ruling was scheduled today according to the cause list set for today; but, the court delayed the verdict till Thursday.
The petition said Gen (rtd) Musharraf imposed martial law in the name of emergency by taking up an extra-constitutional measure on November 3, 2007 and Sharifud Din Pirzada and Malik Qayyum abetted him. On this ground, all three should be docked over high treason under Article-6 of the Constitution.
