KARACHI: The PIA Township building fire intensified on Saturday as fire tenders battled to extinguish it at the Jinnah International Airport, sources said.
According the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) sources, the building where PIA engineers reside at the airport caught fire due to a short circuit.
No loss of life was reported, sources said.
The fire was initially reported around 9:30AM in the engineering department at the Jinnah International Airport, police officials said.
After receiving the news, the fire brigade along with two civil administration vehicles and civil aviation fire tenders reached the spot.
As the fire intensified, more rescue teams reached the area and called for more fire tenders.
According to the latest news, 12 fire tenders are busy extinguishing the fire.
