Photos of Marilyn Monroe emerge honouring her 90th birthday

Clad in pink, Marilyn Monroe plays affectionately with a dog as the camera captures this unguarded moment. In a report by Huffington Post, the lesser known moments of the Hollywood sensation's life were highlighted after her death almost half a century ago.

A part of Limited Runs' vintage collection, the “Lost Photos” series provides a peek into the life of the diva queen born 90 years ago this June.

The photos are on view June 10, 11 and 12, as part of a 90th birthday celebration exhibition at Heritage Auctions in Beverly Hills, California.

There are a multitude of pictures, all having captured Monroe’s life behind the camera. Of fur coats and cat eye glasses, off-shoulder tops and Hollywood glamour, the Lost Photos is a series of pictures that represent various aspects of Marilyn Monroe’s life.

In one of the pictures she stares directly into the camera’s eyes with the sheer confidence of a diva.
