KARACHI: In a shootout with Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) personnel two suspects were killed on Wednesday, while police arrested 98 suspects during raids in Karachi, sources said.
According to sources, two suspects were killed as a result of an exchange of fire between the CTD personnel and suspects in Shah Latif Town. One CTD officer was injured in the shootout.
The security officials recovered suicide bombing vest, hand grenade and ammunition from the dead suspects.
In a search operation in Manghopir, police arrested 98 suspects.
Meanwhile, the FIA’s Anti-trafficking cell in a raid took into custody five foreigners from the city.
According to Deputy Director Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Malik Murtaza, the suspects entered into Pakistan through the Torkhum border without necessary documents.
The suspects were charged under the Foreigners Act.
The suspects have been identified as Abdul Qudoos, Naeem, Rehmatullah, Abdul Kareem and Noor Ahmed.
