Fire in Karachi’s Gul Plaza mall brought under control

KARACHI: The fire which broke out earlier on the first floor of shopping mall Gul Plaza on Sunday was brought under control in Karachi.

It was reported that 15 shops perished in the fire, although there was no loss of life.

After receiving the news, two fire brigade vehicles reached the spot to extinguish the blaze. Three more fire brigade vehicles were called keeping in view the intensity of the fire. Finally, the fire was brought under control.

Due to darkness inside the building, the rescue teams also faced difficulty in their work.

Earlier in 2008, another major incident of fire reduced goods to ashes at Gul Plaza’s ware house.The fire was said to caused by a short-circuit at the popular shopping mall’s second floor.
