Nurse killed, another wounded in Rawalpindi knife attack

RAWALPINDI: A nurse was killed and another wounded on Sunday in a knife attack by unknown men in Rawalpindi, police said.

The incident occurred within the remits of Morgah police station in Rawalpindi, when unknown men assaulted two nurses with knife. The wounded women were immediately taken to hospital, where one of them succumbed to her injuries shortly afterwards.

The other injured was also in precarious condition, according to hospital authorities.

The perpetrators have wounded several women in the vicinity and police are already on a hunt for them, officials say.

Geo News learnt that women in the vicinity had come under such attacks in the past, but the attacks stopped following arrest of a number of suspects.

In the last week, however, such assaults were reported again after a hiatus of a few months, with a number of females wounded by the unknown perpetrators.
