PESHAWAR: Counter terrorism Department (CTD) on Tuesday arrested a suspected suicide bomber from Peshawar.

According to the CTD, the terrorist identified as Rehmanullah was arrested from Bacha Khan Chowk.

The CTD officials recovered a 2-kg improvised explosive device (IED) from the suspect.

The terrorist belongs to a banned organisation, the officials said, adding that the arrested suspect received suicide bombing training.

Peshawar is one of the sensitive areas of Pakistan due to its proximity to the Pak-Afghan border, where an operation was launched today to stop infiltration of terrorists from across the border.
