Rawalpindi stabbing attacks: Police arrest wrong person for the third time

RAWALPINDI: Police for the third time arrested the wrong person in the Rawalpindi stabbing attacks case.

No direct link of the accused Jamal has been established in the case, police said. The accused is being interrogated in police custody.

Earlier police had arrested two more people in the case but later released them claiming that one of them was a drug addict and the second was seeking medical treatment.

A mysterious group in the city stabs women after dark. Since February this year 32 attacks on women have taken place. Among the victims one has died.

All of the attacks took place in the limits of Morgah police station, in areas which include Kot Kalian and Rabia Bungalows.

In the latest attack on August 7 he reportedly stabbed a nurse to death and injured two others.  

Around 25 women were injured with a knife-like object in the first three weeks of February this year.
