GHOTKI: Local athletes on Tuesday protested the crumbling state of the Daharki Ground by doing push-ups—a precedent set by the newly appointed Sindh sports minister.
The athletes pointed out that the new sports minister should get playgrounds in his hometown cleaned instead of challenging Punjab with push-ups. Currently piles of garbage ply the Daharki Ground.
Sardar Mohammad Bux Mahar had challenged his Punjab counterpart on Monday to match his 50 pushups in less than 40 seconds record.
Responding to the challenge, PML-N leader Talal Chaudhry said that indulging in personal challenges did not suit elected representatives who should instead be promoting public competitions.
Speaking to Geo News Talal Chaudhry deflected the personal fitness challenge to instead tallying which province had more sports facilities and to see which province was promoting sports more than the other.
