Boxer Amir Khan visits Thar, vows to build water wells

THAR: British boxer Amir Khan visited Thar on Thursday where he toured different villages and oversaw the work of the Amir Khan Foundation in the region.

Amir, along with his wife, arrived in Nagarparker district of Thar via a helicopter, from where the two, along with Pakistan Army officials, visited villages in Islamkot.

The Bolton-born boxer distributed water pumps among residents of the villages and pledged to build water wells in the area through his foundation. He also vowed to work for the betterment of the local community especially in the sectors of water and health.

Amir documented his visit to Thar on Twitter, where he lauded the courage of the locals and urged people to support the humanitarian efforts in the region.

He also posted pictures with locals.

He also thanked Pakistan Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif and other officials.
