QUETTA: Chief Minister Balochistan Sanaullah Zehri on Thursday condemned the recent statement by in-exile leader Brahamdagh Bugti and said that he has proved that India is involved in terrorism in Balochistan.
The chief minister Balochistan while addressing participants in a function at Law College Quetta said that Brahamdagh Bugti “in return for few cents tilted towards Modi.”
Zehri said that those who gave people false hope of freedom, spilled blood in Balochistan. Poor people were given money to use them against Pakistan, he added.
Following the controversial statement by Indian PM Modi, patriotic citizens in Balochistan started protests and held demonstrations at Quetta, Harnai, Khuzdar, Mustang, Noshki, Sui and Dera Bugti. There was a shutter down strike in Bolan and Dhadar.
Narendra Modi in an earlier speech on Indian Independence Day had said that Balochistan, Gilgit and Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) had thanked him a lot in the past few days for “raising issue of atrocities against them”.
It was reported that Brahamdagh Bugti had praised the statement by the Indian prime minister.
Brahamdagh Bugti is the grandson of the late nationalist leader Akbar Bugti and leader of the outlawed Baloch Republican Army (BRA). He’s currently in self-exile in Switzerland and often accused of indirectly propagating terrorist activities in Balochistan.
