ISLAMABAD: President Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) Ali Zafar on Monday showed pictures of a suspicious man and demanded to know how this person managed to get in the midst of lawyers at the time of the Quetta attack.
“Where did this man come from? How did he manage to reach us at that moment?” Ali Zafar asked and demanded an investigation into the suspect.
Speaking to the media, the SCBA president announced lawyers will observe sit-ins across the country if the terrorists behind Quetta blast were not arrested.
Ali Zafar condemned the Quetta Civil Hospital blast saying that the attack on the lawyers was an attack on the entire nation.
“This was an attack on justice. This was an attack on Pakistan’s legal system,” he said.
He announced that lawyers will observe ‘Black Day’ nationwide on September 8 to protest the attack, which killed 74 people and injured over 120 earlier this month.
The president of SCBA also called for the parliament to look into the matter if the government fails to carry out the measures needed to prevent such attacks in future.
He also criticized the Balochistan government, saying that it failed to deliver on its promises to the families left behind by the victims of the attack.
