Police deny kidnapping attempt in Rawalpindi

RAWALPINDI: Unknown men tried to take control of a van carrying hospital staff early Thursday morning.

According to details unknown men entered a van at 9:00 AM near Khayaban-e-Sir Syed carrying three teachers and two students. They threatened the driver with a gun and took control of the car.

One of the girls jumped off the moving vehicle, police said. Two of the girls suffered minor injuries.

The van which had a tracker device installed stopped near Imam Bargah Chowk and the alleged robbers escaped.

Police said it was an attempted robbery and denied that a kidnapping attempt had been made. Investigation into the incident is underway.
