KARACHI: A petition filed before the Sindh High Court to stop Waseem Akhtar from being sworn in as Mayor of Karachi was dismissed on Tuesday after the court approved the petition for immediate hearing.
The petition filed by PTI leader Faisal Vawda pleaded the court to stop Akhtar from taking oath as he is nominated in multiple cases including criminal cases and is currently being held under remand.
The Sindh High Court bench headed by Justice Muneeb Akhtar after hearing the Faisal Vawda's petition dismissed his plea.
