KARACHI: The Pakistan Navy on Wednesday inducted its third latest ATR aircraft and Scaneagle UAV in the navy’s aviation fleet to augment effectiveness and enhance operational flexibility and range.
Addressing the induction ceremony at the PNS Mehran base in Karachi, Naval Chief Admiral Zakaullah said Pakistan Navy was ready to face challenges on maritime security.
The ATR is a widely operated twin-engine turboprop aircraft and is equipped with state of the art ‘traffic collision avoidance system’ (TCAS) as well as autopilot and high efficiency 6-blade propellers.
The Naval Chief, Admiral Zakaullah who was also the chief guest on the occasion said, that Pakistan Navy Air Arm has come a long way since its inception in the early seventies.
He added that the Induction of ATR Aircraft is part of Pakistan Navy’s aviation vision 2030.
